When Batman visits a refugee camp

All the things I’ve seen. They break my heart. - Kadar (8)

250 million children across the world are growing up in the midst of war - many of whom have been forced to flee their homes.

These children are confronted daily with the terrible effects of armed conflict.

They can’t always handle their experiences alone.

The boy in the video is Kadar*. He's 8 years old.

Kadar was forced to leave his home in Syria and he now lives in a refugee camp with his mother and father (his very own superhero).

He doesn't want to talk about all the terrible thing he has experienced: The bombings. The attacks. The terror.

War Child Batman
Kadar [left] was forced to leave his home in Syria. He stars in the video alongside Batman.

Fantasy is often the only way for children in war to escape their reality.

War Child supports children like Kadar with vital protection, education and psychosocial support.

We help them cope with the terrible things they have experienced and to build a better future for themselves.

*Kadar's name has been changed to protect his identity.
