We welcome the news of a ceasefire in Gaza, but we cannot allow Palestinian children to be forgotten. We are urging the Keir Starmer to:

  • Get sufficient aid into Gaza now.  You must keep up the pressure on the Israeli Government to let all aid trucks in immediately,
  • Ensure War Child and other mental health specialists can reach every child in Gaza with mental health first aid. The UK Government must do everything in its power to support War Child and other specialist agencies' urgently needed work at this critical time.
  • Create lasting peace for Palestinian children. A ceasefire agreement is just the beginning.  The UK Government must work for as long as it takes to secure long-term protection for children in the occupied Palestinian territory.
  • Hold the Israeli Government to account. Palestinian children deserve justice for the grave violations of their rights during this catastrophic conflict.

Join us in calling on the UK Government to do everything they can to end the nightmare for Gaza’s children for good.

Petition Text to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer

Not on our watch:  Tell Keir Starmer, no child forgotten in Gaza.

Dear Prime Minister,

Life for more than one million children in Gaza is still a nightmare.  Caught up in a fragile ceasefire without the food, shelter or mental health first aid they so desperately need, their futures hang in the balance.

For more than 30 years, War Child UK has worked tirelessly on the frontline of conflicts to protect children, and Gaza is no different. But as we deliver the biggest ever aid & mental health response in our history, we urge you not to turn your back on children who have lost everything in this unprecedented crisis. We simply can’t do it without you.

The UK Government must do everything in its power to protect children now, as well as commit to supporting their long-term recovery.

We call on you to:

  • Get sufficient aid into Gaza now. Children are still living through a man-made famine, and thousands of children are starving to death. You must keep up the pressure on the Israeli Government to let all aid trucks in immediately,
  • Ensure War Child and other mental health specialists can reach every child in Gaza with mental health first aid. Children in Gaza are facing a catastrophic mental health crisis, on a scale we have never seen before. The quicker we can reach a traumatised child with our specialised expertise, the more likely they are to recover. The UK Government must do everything in its power to support War Child and other specialist agencies’ urgently needed work at this critical time.
  • Create lasting peace for Palestinian children. A ceasefire agreement is just the beginning. At least 20,000 children have been killed. Children in the occupied Palestinian territory deserve to feel safe forever, be free from oppression, and have real hope for their futures.  The UK Government must work for as long as it takes to secure long-term protection for children in the occupied Palestinian territory.
  • Hold the Israeli Government to account. Palestinian children deserve justice for the grave violations of their rights during this catastrophic conflict. The UK Government must ensure there is a fair and thorough accountability process for the crimes the Israeli Government have undoubtedly committed.

Gaza’s children must not be forgotten – and they cannot wait.

Sincerely,
