Keir Starmer must do everything he can to stop the bombs for good. Join more than 160,000 others and sign your name now.
Ongoing attacks and the blockade of aid into Gaza show how much a permanent ceasefire is needed. The world’s deadliest war for children is not over yet.
We are urging the UK Government to:
- Bring about an end to the war - for good. Children in Gaza need the bombs to stop.
- Protect UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency). Children in Gaza will not receive the basic essentials they need for survival without them.
- Support War Child’s work. Over a million children in Gaza are estimated to need psychological support, while every child is currently without formal education, and 17,000 are estimated to be unaccompanied or separated from their families. War Child is the only charity solely dedicated to children in and post war.
Join us in calling on the UK Government to do everything he can to end the nightmare for Gaza’s children.
Petition Text to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer
Dear Prime Minister,
We were extremely disappointed to see that the temporary ceasefire agreement was broken in March and that attacks on Gaza continue to maim and kill children. Now, children are also being starved to death through the deliberate blockade of aid.
For the 1.1 million traumatised children caught up in this catastrophic conflict in Gaza, only a permanent ceasefire will stop the violence and death.
There must be a permanent end to the death and destruction that has already broken so many young lives. The bombing of children in Gaza must stop for good.
We urge you Prime Minister, to use your power and influence during this critical window to put children in Gaza first.
We ask you to:
- Bring about an end to the war - for good. Temporary ceasefire is not enough. Negotiations between the parties to this conflict must reach an agreement that leads to a permanent end to this war.
- Protect UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency). Children in Gaza will not receive the essentials they need for survival without them.
- Support War Child’s work. Over a million children in Gaza are estimated to need psychological support, while every child is currently without formal education, and 17,000 are estimated to be unaccompanied or separated from their families. War Child is the only charity solely dedicated to children in and post war.
Children didn’t start this conflict, and they won’t have a seat at the negotiating table. It is imperative that the UK Government does all it can to ensure that children's rights and needs are prioritised, whatever that takes.
We believe that the assistance of the UK Government is crucial in what is the world's most dangerous place to be a child.
War Child stands ready to work with you and the UK Government in this task.
Yours sincerely,
