What does a typical day at War Child look like for you?
It’s a cliché but there aren’t many typical days. As a Senior HR Advisor, I work with colleagues across the organisation, providing support at all levels. My day might involve advising on recruitment campaigns, coaching managers through people-related challenges, supporting employees with wellbeing initiatives, or ensuring our policies and processes enable a positive and inclusive workplace. It’s a truly varied role that allows me to make a real impact—helping to create a supportive and high-performing environment where our people can thrive.
What do you enjoy about your role and/or working for War Child?
The people—their dedication, passion, and drive to make a difference is truly inspiring. I also really value the flexibility I have in my role. As a parent, returning from maternity leave can be daunting, but War Child has been incredibly supportive, allowing me to work in a way that fits around my family life. I’m trusted to do my job, and that balance makes all the difference.
How would you describe the working culture at War Child?
Friendly, high performing, flexible and lively.
