Game Action

Game Action is an annual charity gaming fundraiser from War Child. Incorporating variety streaming, Steam sales and events to raise money to help children affected by war.

We vow to never give up on children whose lives are affected by conflict.  

Combining charity gaming streams, fantastic Steam sale discounts, and unbeatable content, Game Action brings together creators, developers, and publishers across the globe to highlight the importance of protecting, educating, and standing up for the rights of children caught up in conflict. 

In its first year, the 5-week celebration of gaming raised £85,000 to support our mission of ensuring that no child’s life should be torn apart by war.

The schedule 

The first Game Action took place in November 2021 and was absolutely jam-packed full of streams, sales and events:

 

Winter Streaming Festival 

Kicking off on 23 October 2021 and running for five weeks, The Winter Streaming Festival took place across Twitch, and was powered by Tiltify. We partnered with dozens of streamers from across the world who hosted charity streams on their Twitch and YouTube channels, and generously donated the proceeds. 

 

DIVA 11-hour Marathon Stream 

The team at DIVA kicked off Game Action in style by hosting a marathon stream on 23 October 2021. Playing a different game every hour and giving away exclusive prizes for 11 hours, all while raising money for War Child. 

 

Football Manager 22 Xbox Edition Global Reveal 

In collaboration with Game Action, the team at Sports Interactive exclusively showcased the Football Manager 22 Xbox Edition in the global reveal of their new game.

 

The Winter Sale 

From 2-9 November 2021, The War Child Winter Sale partnered with studios large and small in a week-long sale on Steam. Showcasing the best of the best with amazing discounts.
