Over 18 months of brutal conflict has left Gaza in ruins. Over 15,000 children have been killed and those who have managed to survive are severely traumatized. More than a million children are suffering from severe psychological distress, many unable to sleep or even speak. It's the worst mental health crisis for children that we have ever seen.
So far, we have delivered emergency supplies to over 120,000 children and their families, including food, clean water and shelter but the current blockade is making it impossible to get new supplies in, and the needs of children are rapidly growing.
We are currently doing everything we can inside Gaza to support children who are severely traumatized, but after over two months of the blockade, our team and partners are at breaking point. When aid is allowed back in, over one million desperate children will need rapid and specialist support. We've got the expertise, and as soon as we have access we must be ready to respond at scale.
