For children living in or fleeing from war zones, winter can feel especially dark. The fear and violence they have endured leave deep scars and often make hope for a safe future feel out of reach.

One in five children in the world are affected by conflict – as a staggering 520 million children are living in or fleeing from conflict right now. The impact that conflict has on children’s lives is immense and the trauma of war could stay with them for a lifetime. 

This winter, Capri-Sun are supporting War Child’s “Leave a Little Light On” campaign to bring hope and light into these children’s lives. Together, we can help them rediscover safety, joy and the belief in a brighter future. Each light is a symbol of strength, courage and hope for a better tomorrow.

War Child's work

  • Protect  - We support children’s wellbeing, provide safe spaces for them to play and learn, and get the psychological support they need to process their experiences of conflict.
  • Educate  - We set up temporary learning spaces, provide catch-up classes, rehabilitate schools damaged by bombs and bullets, and support teachers operating in conflict zones.
  • Support - We provide families with food, cash relief and access to other life-saving essentials and support young people and caregivers with the skills they need to find apprenticeships and employment.
