War Child UK is a member of the War Child Alliance, a global foundation made up of five fundraising offices and 13 programme offices.

Programme members are based in and around conflict-affected areas across the world. Through the War Child Alliance, War Child UK is able to effectively and efficiently combine resources, skills, experience, and knowledge to help more children than ever before. 

As a member of the Alliance, War Child UK is now a highly effective and innovative fundraising entity, raising crucial funds and awareness of our work globally. War Child UK currently has around 63 employees working from the UK.

Philanthropy and Partner Engagement

War Child’s Philanthropy and Partner Engagement team builds strong, lasting relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional funders, and business partners, including gaming. The function maximises fundraising potential through thoughtful engagement and strategic relationship management, helping drive lasting impact for children affected by conflict.

 

Supporter Engagement

Our Supporter Engagement directorate is responsible for our Individual Giving, Community & Challenge, Legacy, Supporter Care and Database functions, as well as maximising the potential of our fundraising through mass-marketing and achieving long-term transformational growth and stability in unrestricted income.

 

Fundraising Engagement

The Fundraising Engagement team work at the heart of the creative industries, spanning music, art, film, theatre, TV, fashion and literature. We deliver bold, innovative fundraising campaigns that break the mould. From unforgettable music gigs to cutting-edge art shows and high-profile auctions, our team brings ideas to life through powerful industry partnerships. Through inspiring storytelling and advocacy, we highlight the devastating impact of war on children and the ways we’re helping them heal and rebuild. We generate headlines, shape public conversation, and build momentum to give children hope for a better future. 

 

People and Culture

Our People and Culture directorate is responsible for maximising the potential and performance of all colleagues through HR service delivery, including the delivery of strategically aligned goals, policies and practices which shape the employee experience; promote a positive, high-performing and inclusive culture to support everyone to be at their best, underpinned by strong working practices and training. The directorate supports the organisation in all aspects of people management, overseeing talent recruitment, policy development, performance and talent management, learning and development, employee relations, reward & benefits, and the wellbeing of our colleagues. 

 

Finance and IT

Our Finance and IT directorate is responsible for financial planning and reporting, providing financial information to enable effective decision making and efficiently processing finance transactions. The team oversees our financial and IT operations, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance while supporting our London team.
