War Child has been working in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 2003, but the past six months have brought the worst violence we’ve witnessed in over a decade. Escalating clashes between armed groups triggered fierce fighting in eastern DRC and forced more than 7.8 million people to flee their homes, half of them children. Children are in need of humanitarian assistance and severely at-risk of recruitment into armed groups and sexual exploitation. Terrified children are being separated from their families and urgently need our support.
War Child and our partners have so far have reached over 10,000 children and their caregivers in 2025.
