CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN NEED YOUR SUPPORT
War Child is on the ground and responding after a powerful earthquake tore through Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan on 31 August.
The quake shook and brought down homes across multiple provinces leaving communities in shock and despair. Tragically, over 1400 people have lost their lives, and around 3000 are injured. The number of casualties is expected to rise as teams reach the hardest-hit areas.
War Child and our partner, the Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) are working together to ensure children and families have access to food, shelter, blankets, hygiene supplies, and to make sure that children are protected from further harm.
Many of the areas affected are mountainous and have been cut off by landslides, making rescue efforts incredibly difficult.
War Child has been supporting children in Afghanistan since 2002. This devastating earthquake has placed even more families in danger and in need of support and protection.
Please donate today. Your support can reach those who need it most and help save lives
