Fundraiser of the Month - December

Name:

Hannah Hamill

Fundraising challenge:

Hannah braved the bleak British midwinter to shave all her hair off for War Child! She was sponsored by fellow students at Cirencester College and the 'big snip' took place just before Christmas. Check out the video above to see Hannah's lovely long locks of hair removed in a matter of minutes.

We're humbled that Hannah would go to such lengths for War Child. Hope she's got a warm hat...

How much did you raise?:

Over £400

What motivated you to do this challenge?:

I bought myself a War Child t-shirt from a stall at Underage Festival last year, which sparked up a conversation between my friend and I about the children in Iraq, and how there had to be something we could do to help. 10 minutes later we saw a girl pass us with a bald head, my friend jokingly suggested that I should do that to raise money for War Child. I thought it was such an awesome idea and decided there and then that I had to do it.

Why did you choose to raise money for War Child?:

I originally found out about War Child from Avril Lavigne's video "Knocking on Heaven's Door" the statistics shocked and upset me. Since then I have tried to donate little amounts of money to the charity but found it difficult to do anything that could make a real difference.
