Meeting about the Millennium Development Goals
On Wednesday we joined lots of other charities to discuss the Millennium Development Goals and hear the UK government's priority areas that Nick Clegg will be advocating for at next week's UN summit.
The messages of support from students and our online friends were handed to Nick Clegg alongside the 1.3 million other people in the UK who have taken part in campaigns calling for action by governments to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
As well as Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, other attendees included Secretary of State for International Development Andrew Mitchell and more than 400 NGO staff and supporters. The event took place just days before the Millennium Development Goals Review Summit in New York. In response, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it is "a moral commitment to keep the promises that were made in 2000."
