The crowd gathers in Brixton

In November 2007 Keane put on two huge gigs to raise funds for War Child's work with children affected by conflict in Iraq. With the help of the Pet Shop Boys, Guillemots, Lily Allen, Brendan Benson, Peter Kay, The Magic Numbers, Milburn, Findlay Brown and Teddy Thompson, they helped us raise a massive £120,000.

As well as putting on this gig, Keane also recorded the single 'The Night Sky' for us, and you can download it at our download store or read the full lyrics to the song here.

The money raised by the 'Night Sky' single has gone
a long way to support our work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. You can find out more about War Child's ongoing projects in these countries by visiting our projects page at http://warchild.org.uk/our_projects

The money raised at the gig in Brixton has gone towards our Iraq Appeal. In a country where 1 child is dying every 5 minutes and almost 50% of children don't have access to education, the need has never been greater. War Child is the only international charity working with children in southern Iraq so this money really is vital.

Sir Elton John was also on hand to lend his support to War Child and Keane and highlight the importance of the event. You can see exactly what he, and a few other notables such as Adam & Joe and Maximo Park had to say here.

We're a SMALL charity so your donations make a BIG difference to the children we work with.
