Following corruption allegations about UN troops, who has the best chance of achieving peace in the DRC?

Why has no attention been paid to the affects that the international arms trade, or the neo-liberal economic policies of western governments have on the regime in the DCR?

Copper mined in DCR is bought by multinationals and are turned into microchips to be used in electronic equipment used all over the globe. This copper helps to fund the regime, so is therefore being indirectly funded by the west.

Furthermore, DRC buys most of it's weapons from rich western governments, so perhaps a curb on the arms trade would help bring peace and stability to the region.

In short, the best chance of achieving peace in the DCR is down to Mr. Bush, Mr. Brown and other western leaders changing their selfish and exploitative economic policies.

Just £10 is all it takes to feed a vulnerable street child in Congo for a week.
