Fundraising challenge:

Selling music single ‘Sunflowers’ written in aid of child soldiers.

What motivated you to do this challenge?:

It is very much inspired by a story I was told by my Aunt when she came back from Uganda. She told me she went to hear a speech from a boy who'd been taken away by rebels and forced to join a rebel gang and become a war child, after having his family killed in front of him. This story has always stuck with me, and along with my experiences in South Africa and taking an interest in films such as Blood Diamond where you can clearly see the terror these children are put through, how're they're taught against what is right, I decided to write a song about it to help raise awareness.

It's called ''Sunflowers', as an optimistic metaphor of the beauty and hope within these children

.

Why did you choose to raise money for War Child?:

I knew how successful War Child has been at helping child soldiers and children living in extremely dangerous war zones, and thought it’d be a privilege to help War Child.
