Record Store Day 2023

Record Store Day announces this year's fundraising activities for official charity partner, War Child.

Three lucky vinyl fans will be able to get their hands on a signed Rega Planar 3 deck by entering a ticketed raffle on the War Child Web Shop.  To buy raffle tickets for the signed decks visit  Kae Tempest, Frank Turner and Foals. Each entry costs £5, with no limit on the number of times fans can enter the draw. Winners will be announced on 30th April 2023.

On Record Store Day itself on 22nd April fans will also have the chance to purchase ten highly collectible records from world-famous artists including The Cure, Miles Davies, The Police and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.  The records - which also include titles from Celeste, Brian Eno, Mike Oldfield, Marc Almond and a collaboration between Dirty Projectors & Björk - will only be available at participating independent record shops, with a donation of £1 from every copy sold going to the charity.

From special anniversary editions of classic albums and singles to rare demo recordings and first-time-on-vinyl records, any one of the records will be a unique addition to any record collection.

Head of War Child Records Richard Clarke said: “We’re exceptionally proud of our partnership with Record Store Day as we enter our fifth year working together.

“Every year we’ve grown and raised more and more to help support children whose lives have been torn apart by war. With ten incredible releases and the support of the brilliant Record Store Day team and amazing partners Meantime and Rega this year looks set to be another record-breaking year.

“Music has always been at the epicentre of everything War Child does and is in the DNA of the organisation, so it’s a real privilege to be the official charity partner for Record Store Day once more and help celebrate the unique and wonderful culture and communities of the independent record store.”
