Skomer Bennett-Clemmow and Richard Clemmow

Date:

July 2010

Fundraising challenge:

Father (Richard) and son (Skomer) team (FATSO) to cycle without car back-up or other support from Land’s End to John O’Groats. The aim was to complete this adventure, (known to cyclists as LEJOG), in under two weeks.

How much did you raise:

£2,300

What motivated you to do this challenge?:

We wanted to do something truly memorable together after Skomer finished his GCSE exams and felt that we could encourage our friends and acquaintances to back War Child’s work with vulnerable children in war zones.

Why did you choose to raise money for War Child?:

We felt that as a small charity it was particularly deserving of support. We like the clarity of focus of the charity’s work and know there are hundreds of thousands of children in war-zones whose lives are devastated by the conflict around them and have none of the opportunities of kids growing up in the UK.
