Shirley trekked in the Iares region of Peru to a height of over 4,600 metres, then visited the Inca City of Machu Picchu.

How much did you raise:

What motivated you to do this challenge?:

I chose War Child because, for over twenty years I have taught comparatively privileged children and wished to help children in areas of conflict who have little chance to achieve even minor ambitions, and who are victims of abuse and suffering.

Why did you choose to raise money for War Child?:

I wanted to support one of Deutsche Bank’s charities of the year and given the history of the region, particularly Sudan, it seemed very appropriate to support the work that War Child does in protecting children living in war zones throughout the world.
