Fundraising challenge:
Getting married after more than 10 years together!
How much did you raise:
Over £4,000.
What motivated you to do this challenge?:
Having been together for some time and having already set up home, we didn’t feel comfortable asking our friends and family for the usual ‘starter kit’. At the same time we knew that they would want to give us gifts.
Why did you choose to raise money for War Child?:
The opportunities of survival and hope that the charity provides to children affected by war moved us to support its work. Most of all, having family links to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Uganda made the charity’s presence in these countries all the more important to us. We wanted to contribute to supporting this cause which is so close to our hearts. We know that War Child is a relatively small charity and that the donations received would truly make a difference. What better way to mark a new chapter in our lives than by helping to ensure a new chapter for a child?
With the help of our friends and family we are very proud to have been named “fundraisers of the month” and hope that we can help to continue supporting your great work.
