Overview: Students will be given the opportunity to research the plight of street children and engage in a mock debate. They will adopt the roles of a Parliamentary Committee and a lobbying charity during the task. Students will need to research political issues, respond to media influence and use their skills of persuasion during the debate.
Objectives:
To reflect on how your life compares with the lives of children living in conflict related poverty.
To understand how charities and governments interact.
To be able to select relevant information gathered during research.
To develop strong arguments.
To be able to respond to various points of view and evaluate different perspectives.
